Seven players will play for Brazilian clubs at the domestic level out of the 23-man squad for the next friendly, which was announced on Sunday by interim Brazil coach Rámon Menezes. Five will wear the senior national team jersey for the first time.
Menezes once more left out several of his predecessor Tite’s favorites, such as the injured striker Néymar and fellow strikers Raphinha, Antóny, and Gabriel Jesses.
But he also included a few players who weren’t expected to start for Qatar, such as goalkeeper Alisson, defenders Eder Militao and Márqinhos, midfielder Cásemiro, playmaker Lcas Páqeta, and forwards Richarlison, Pedro, Rodrigo, and Vinicius.
Vanderson (Monaco), Nino (Flminense), Ayrton Lcas (Flamengo), Joelinton (Newcastle), and Malcom (Zenit) are making their pledges for the Selecao on the square list.
Three from Palmeiras (Weverton, Rony, and Raphael Vеiga) and two from Flamengo (Ayrton Lcas and PEDro) are among the seven players from Brazilian teams who have been called up for international duty at the time. These clubs now have the highest average squares in Brazilian football. The other two, Nino and André, are from Flminense and have excelled this season.
In contrast to his previous squad, which had nine players from the U20 squad for the March friendly in which Brazil was defeated 2-1 by Morocco, Menezes chose to line up more experienced players this time.
After leading his U20 team to a 2-0 victory over Nigeria at the U20 World Cup in Argentina, where the coach returned on Sunday to prepare the team for the last 16, Menezes released the senior squad roster the following day.
The U20 coach will continue to serve as Brazil’s senior team’s interim coach while the Brazilian Federation continues to look for a permanent replacement.
CARLO ANCELOTTI, who recently announced his intention to stay at Real Madrid, was their top pick.
