Bruno Fernandes was the ideal option to be captain, as seen by what he did to Erik ten Hag during Manchester United’s preseason friendly versus Arsenal.
Manchester United defeated the Gunners to make it three wins in a row. Following a left-footed shot from 25 yards by Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho took advantage of a Gabriel error to break through and score two goals.
The player who stood out the most in the first half was Bruno. The newly appointed captain dominated the first 45 minutes, winning the MOTM award as chosen by the audience.
But one particular instance really demonstrated that he was deserving of the position of captain.
Erik ten Hag is prevented from disputing with the officials by Bruno Fernandes.
This is the kind of behavior you expect from a captain. He not only serves as a leader among his colleagues, but it is also obvious that his management holds him in the highest regard.
Harry Maguire simply wasn’t up to par as the captain of Manchester United. We hardly ever saw him appear as a calm voice of reason or an authority figure. Within 45 minutes, Bruno completed both with the armband!
Will Bruno Fernandes make a fine captain for Manchester United?
He exhibits so many excellent attributes that make him a superb captain. He is devoted to the team, a born leader, and highly regarded by all of his teammates.
He does, however, need to stop his constant complaining if he wants to step up his game. If he keeps acting in this way, the rest of the squad will be negatively impacted.
There’s no guarantee he won’t go on to become one of United’s all-time best captains, though, if he can get things under control.
