LeBron James, David Beckham, Kim Kardashian, and other well-known figures gathered to watch Lionel Messi make his Inter Miami debut against Cruz Azul.

The Argentine came off the bench to score the game-winning goal in the 94th minute as his team defeated the opposition 2-1 in the League Cup on Friday.

Kim Kardashian attended the game with her son Saint and posed with club co-owner David Beckham and Victoria. She claimed that Saint was the inspiration behind their appearance on Apple TV.

The Daily Mail quoted her as saying: “We attend many exhibition games every summer. I spent five or six years playing soccer. I was a center-forward and a goalie, and I wasn’t bad, you know.

When asked if Saint had a favorite player, Kardashian responded that it was Lionel Messi, the new number 10 for Inter Miami and one of the finest players in sports.

The two had seen one of Messi’s teams in action before as well. They were seen in March cheering as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Rennes 2-0 at the Parc des Princes.

LeBron James, a legend in the NBA, was also present in the A-list crowd at the DRV PNK Stadium. Prior to the game, he was seen hugging Messi while wearing a bucket hat and t-shirt with white patterns.

Longtime Florida resident Serena Williams, who attended the game with friend Kardashian, was another sporting celebrity.

Because Messi tied the score in the last seconds of the game, his supporters will have departed the Fort Lauderdale stadium happier than their Mexican counterparts.

Robert Taylor gave Miami the lead after 44 minutes, scoring the game’s opening goal. After 65 minutes, Uriel Antuna was the only player to tie the score.

However, Messi’s talent was evident when he netted a superbly placed free kιck to give his team the victory.
