GOOD DAY Andre Onana is seen participating in Manchester United training as he greets his colleagues

As he was put through his paces on Friday, the new goalie for Man United got to know his new teammates.

Since joining Manchester United for £47.7 million from Inter, Andre Onana has taken part in his first practice.

As he participated in multiple drills in the New York sun, the goalkeeper was observed to be in high spirits. Onana signed a five-year contract this week and then took a flight to the US to meet his new teammates.

After David de Gea leaves, the 27-year-old, who will wear the number 24, will take over as Erik ten Hag’s primary choice in goal. The Reds manager gave an explanation of the Cameroonian’s signing on Friday.

“Football today also demands good play from the back, out-playing qualities, and that is a quality Andre has,” remarked Ten Hag. Both are necessary, and you must cover both ground.

“I believe that he is so focused on winning because of his physical presence and mentality. He will support the team and help the group advance to higher levels because he is so hungry to win trophies.

Onana’s participation in United’s match against Arsenal in the first Friendlies of their US Tour remains uncertain. However, as he gets ready for his debut, the United coaching staff put him to the test on Friday.

Onana was observed conversing with Dean Henderson, who was included in the US tour despite an apparent impending permanent transfer to Nottingham Forest. The other goalkeepers traveling with them are Radek Vitek, Nathan Bishop, and Tom Heaton.

Matej Kovar, who earlier this year won the Czech title at Sparta Prague, has been left behind and has another loan period ahead of him.
