In a preseason “friendly,” Manchester United and Arsenal will restart their heated rivalry on Saturday in New York.
The match, which will be the Gunners’ second so far in their tour of America, will begin at 10 p.m. UK time. Manchester United has already competed in two matches in Scotland and Norway.
The 31-man tour team that United chose has flown out and started practicing in New Jersey on Thursday.
The fourth Premier League match of the season features Erik ten Hag’s team traveling to Arsenal, therefore this matchup may be beneficial for both teams.
Manchester United predicted line-up v Arsenal
Erik ten Hag has proven in prior preseason friendlies that he will choose the strongest team at his disposal.
At halftime, a full 11 substitutions are anticipated because United uses these friendlies primarily to help players improve their fitness.
Saying Andre Onana will start in goal would be audacious. After completing his £43 million move, he participated in his first training session and should be fine to go. The second half would be played by Tom Heaton.
Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have all played 90 minutes in two games and are expected to start this one as well. At left-back, Luke Shaw will join them.
Alvaro Fernandez, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Diogo Dalot were all visible in the second half.
Maguire might take the field for the first 45 minutes solely to avoid Fernandes having to give him the armband for the second half.
Mason Mount, a £55 million acquisition, will start in midfield with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, who will play their first preseason minutes.
We might see Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay, and either Kobbie Mainoo or Hannibal in the second half.
Jadon Sancho and Antony may continue in a three-man assault, with Marcus Rashford forming the front of the line.
While it is unknown whether Anthony Martial will be able to play in the second half, Amad, Facundo Pellistri, and Alejandro Garnacho would all like to receive some playing time.
