The ideal environment at JMG Academy helps Doucoure develop and hone his talents. “ Doucoure is sociable, possessing a strong personality. He’s smart, he’s always in control of himself, ” Wad said.
JMG allows players to practice playing without shoes in order to maximize their technical qualities and the ability to control the ball. Brazil became an inspiration to help Guillou develop and apply unique training methods.

According to Guillou, the country of Samba always produces real pitch artists, the world’s most technical stars.
During his early years at JMG, Doucoure played mainly as a striker. “In the beginning, he was effective in attack, scoring many goals. Doucoure also made an effort, actively supporting his teammates in defense. Therefore, we decided to let him play deeper, ” said Wad.
Doucoure does not have an impressive physique, but the midfielder born in 2000 possesses the ability to read the game and play smart football. Academy coach Frederic Martin likened Doucoure to former player Sebastian Veron.
The Malian midfielder is on the radar of Liverpool.
In 2017, Doucoure shone in the U17 Mali shirt at the U17 World Cup. After 184 minutes of play, Doucoure contributed two assists, with the home team reaching the semi-finals.
After an impressive performance at the U17 World Cup, Doucoure was invited to try a job at RC Lens. A few months later, the French team signed the Malian player.
Doucoure gradually integrates and affirms his talent in Lens shirt. In total, the 23-year-old midfielder made 131 appearances before landing at Palace. In the 2022/2023 season, Doucoure was voted Palace’s Player of the Season.
Klopp needs to bring in another defensive midfielder.
