Words cannot describe this happiness: Barcelona legend Iniesta is said to have agreed to join Inter Miami

According to a rᴜmor from Offsider in Spain that SPORT published, FC Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has an agreement in principle to join former teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets at Inter Miami.

The 2010 World Cup-winning goal scorer’s contract with Japanese club Vissel Kobe ended, hence he is currently without a job.

The legendary midfielder announced his departure from the Japanese team in a tearful press conference and announced his ambition to continue playing at the age of 39.

“I’d like to continue playing football. I believe I still have it in me to play,” the Spaniard told reporters.

We’ll see what’s feasible when this chapter comes to an end, though. This is what I hope to do in order to end my playing career on the field. To be honest with you, I don’t know, he continued.

Currently, Inter Miami is acquiring former Barcelona stars at will.

The David Beckham co-owned team has also acquired former Blaugrana captain Sergio Busquets after persuading Messi to sign with them and reject a second stint in Catalonia as well as a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal that would have paid him a reported €500 million ($560 million) a year to return to the top of Forbes’ list of the World’s Highest-Paid Athletes.

From Messi’s native Argentina, Mas told TyC Sports, “I think Jordi Alba has signed his contract.”

He said, “I know that Tata Martino [the head coach of Inter Miami] is counting on him for the second Leagues Cup match.

Mas also talked about the potential arrival of Luis Suarez, one of the group’s closest pals.

“Luis Suarez’s impending arrival has been much talked about. We haven’t had any direct discussions with Gremio or Suarez, Mas said.

“How Luis Suarez managed to leave Gremio is beyond me. We are free to speak with Luis and bring him to Inter Miami if he does, though. That scenario is conceivable.

The Brazilian club, according to SPORT, won’t let go of Suarez unless Miami agrees to pay his absurdly high $70 million release clause for a 36-year-old with knee problems.

Miami might have to pass on the Uruguayan, but if Offsider’s rᴜmor is true, they might be about to sign Iniesta for nothing.

Iniesta still has plenty to give in a league like the MLS, as evidenced by a friendly match he played last month versus Barca for Vissel Kobe.

Inter Miami would now have four key players from Barcelona’s most recent Champions League victory in 2015 when the Catalans completed a second historic double under the direction of current Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique.
