ARSENAL supporters – and even boss Mikel Arteta – have hailed new boy Jurrien Timber after his debut.
The Gunners splashed out £40m to Ajax to sign the full-back earlier this month.
Jurrien Timber impressed after coming off the bench for his Arsenal debut
The 22-year-old Dutchman joined fellow newcomers Declan Rice and Kai Havertz in action as Arsenal thrashed Wayne Rooney’s MLS All-Stars 5-0 on their US preseason tour.
Timber, a Dutch international, just made his debut halfway through the second half of the assault, although he did so in an uncharacteristically more advanced midfield position.

However, he had 29 touches of the ball within that little period, won three out of three ground battles, and produced a 95% pass accuracy.
Afterward, his admirers immediately started praising him on Twitter.
“Timber was a joy to watch,” tweeted one.
Another wrote: “What a debut show from Jurrien Timber.”
A fellow fan declared that “Timber looks absolute class” while a fellow Gooner said: “Timber inverting from the right. UNREAL.”
Jurrien Timber made a positive impression on his Arsenal debut
“Timber already tucked in midfield,” tweeted a fan watching while another demanded: “Make Jurrien Timber our main starter I’ve seen enough.”
And another urged: “Invest stocks in Timber now.”
But it was not only supporters that were impressed with what they had seen.
Arteta said afterwards: “I think you have seen tonight that he is a really versatile player.
“We can use him in different positions, within those positions, he gives you the capacity to invert and occupy defender spaces.
“He is so comfortable on the ball in that phase. He has this aggression on the duels and that dynamism that I really like about him.
“You saw from the first action, in the high press, he went and won the ball straight away on that duel and he was ready to go.
“He has gelled really well with the team and I think he will be a really important player for the team.”
