It was a five-star performance from Arsenal as the MLS All-Stars were swept aside by Mikel Arteta’s team in a 5-0 demolition.

Leoandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus each scored twice in the first half to give Arsenal the lead. As Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz all recorded goals in the second half, there were some positive moments.

Despite the fact that it is only the preseason, Arteta’s team put on a nasty performance.

Trossard, Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba all played outstandingly in the first half, and Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice received a warm welcome in their debut outings as Arsenal players.

Overall, it was a fantastic performance by Arsenal, who kicked off their US Tour in style.

Player Ratings

Goalkeeper and defenders

Ramsdale (6.5) – Didn’t really have much to do aside from the odd scary moment. Again good with the ball at his feet. Kept a clean sheet.

White (6.5) – Linked up well with Saka, as we have become accustomed to. Other than that, will be better for the run.

Saliba (7.5)– Tidied up several chances for the MLS-All stars as he looks like himself despite it being preseason. Looking ominous already.

Gabriel (7.0) – Looked assured on the field and produced some good moments defensively.

Kiwior (7.0) – Again playing in the Zinchenko role and looks at home. Neat and tidy in possession as he roamed around doing as he pleased. A few good defensive moments as well.

Midfielders

.

Jorginho (7.0) – Kept things ticking over nicely in midfield. Was good without being spectacular. Calmly slotted home his penalty.

Trossard (8.5)– Produced several superb touches in midfield and had a spectacular curling effort to double Arsenal’s lead. Replaced 10 mins into the second half with an injury.

Vieira (5.5) – Another chance and didn’t really show much. Again, it is preseason, but ideally would like to see more from him.

Forwards

Saka (8.0) – Normal service resumed. Produced several moments of quality as he had a hand in both goals. Withdrawn at half time.

Jesus (7.5) – Back in form with a delightful chip to open the scoring for Arsenal. Looked lively from the start.

Nketiah (6.5) – On the periphery out wide. Produced some nice moments but otherwise never really in the game. Withdrawn at half time.

Substitutes

Hein (5.5) – Did what he had to do. Never tested.

Odegaard (7.0)– Produced a sensational ball for Martinelli’s goal as our skipper produced a moment of brilliance.

Havertz (6.5) – Again got minutes under his belt. Took his chance well with a great finish off his chest.
