After Joao Felix’s shocƙing admission of wanting to sign for Barcelona last night, there seems to have been a major development on that front.

The star who wants to leave Atletico Madrid admits that he dreams of playing for the Blaugrana and will seize the opportunity to sign for them.

“I would love to play for Barça. Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would love to join Barça. It’s always been my dream since I was a kid. If that happens, it will be a dream come true for me,” he said.

It’s no sҽcret that Barça president Joan Laporta is also an admirer of the striker and the club has tried to sign him before.

So, following Felix’s comments yesterday, reports have emerged that Barcelona has tried to find a way to sign the 23-year-old in the current transfer window.

AS’s Manu Sainz now has an update on the matter, saying Atletico Madrid has allowed Felix to join Barcelona this summer on a loan deal with an option to buy.

It has been suggested that a transfer would be in line with the economic realities of the La Liga champions and that things could progress rapidly over the next week or so.

Joao Felix has come close to signing for Barcelona in the winter transfer window of 2022. There was an agreement between the two clubs for a joint ownership arrangement until Los Rojiblancos pulled out of the action.

However, the 23-year-old continues to dream about a move to the Catalan giants. And, now, that dream has a good chance of becoming a reality, with Atletico Madrid ready to sanction his transfer to Barcelona under a loan-to-buy deal.

 

An alternative report from Mundo Deportivo says that Los Colchoneros is furious with Felix’s statements, claiming it is disrespectful to the club.

At the same time, the message from the Metropolitano was: “The player’s agent knows very well the conditions that must be met in order for Joao to leave the club. From then on we have nothing to comment on the matter.”

 

Given the fɑct that Felix has been at odds with Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid will solve the problem by getting rid of the striker while a good season at Barça could also enhance his value in the future.

For the Blaugrana, this is a low-cost opportunity to sign a talented player on loan and if successful, the team will benefit greatly.
