The most recent developments in Jordan Henderson negotiations between Liverpool and Al-Ettifaq are revealed by Fabrizio Romano.
The Guardian recently reported that Henderson and Al-Ettifaq had reached a pact. It is therefore obvious that the footballer is prepared to relocate to the Middle East. But there must be agreement on a transfer fee.
Romano says that, contrary to the Saudi club’s earlier desire, there is no likelihood that this transfer will be made without cost. There will be discussions to find a solution that works for all sides. Liverpool is in a position to request a transfer price for the England international’s exit because he still has two years left on his Anfield contract (Transfermarkt).

“The price for the Jordan Henderson transaction is still up for discussion between Al Ettifaq and Liverpool. ongoing negotiations.
“There is no possibility of a free transfer, as Al Ettifaq originally demanded. However, discussions are still ongoing in an effort to reach an agreement among all stakeholders.
It might not be a bad thing for the Reds to lose Henderson this summer, regardless of the price. In the past 18 months, his football has gotten worse. The leadership effect may also diminish after that. In football, it is better to set an example for the squad by performing effectively.
Given that the Englishman still has two years left on his contract, the club should find it simpler to demand a transfer price for his departure. By 2024 or 2025, it will be difficult for an old and underperforming player to make a lot of money.
