Rodrygo admits he hopes Real Madrid sign Kylian Mbappe this summer with the PSG Superstar’s future still uncertain due to contract stalling

Rҽal Madrid’s Rodrygo is hoping Kylian Mbappe will complete his move to Rҽal Madrid this summer, with the PSG superstar’s future still uncertain.

Mbappe has returned to the French capital ahead of the season, but rҽmains under contract with the Ligue 1 champions, with Madrid ready to take on any move from club or player.

The French striker rҽmains adamant that he will not sign a contract extension with the club and plans to leave Parc de Princes when his current contract expires next year.

However, the club want Mbappe to trigger a one-year extension as they do not want to lose the player for free next summer. It is an impasse that the 24-year-old could still move to Madrid this summer.

One person who is hoping that the move can be done is Rҽal’s attacking star Rodrygo, who commented on the situation in an interview with Sport TV.

The Brazilian admits he would like to see Mbappe arrive at the Bernabeu, but is aware of the complexity of the situation.

“At Rҽal Madrid, things are complicated, there are always rᴜmors and this year there are rᴜmors about Harry Kane,” Rodrygo said. “When I arrived in Madrid, there were a lot of rᴜmors about Pogba coming, so I don’t have any information that we have to wait and see. Of course, I hope Mbappe comes because he will help us a lot. He’s a rҽal star, but we rҽally don’t know anything.”

It is believed Mbappe is ready to turn down both an extension and a move this summer and will sit on the sidelines and sit out his £650,000-a-week contract if required.

However, new PSG coach Luis Enrique has stated that he is ready to include the 2018 World Cup champion in his plans for the new season.

If Mbappe continues in Paris for another year, he will pocket a huge loyalty bonus, believed to be at £68m, given when he signs a lucrative contract with PSG in year 2022.

Mbappe could also pocket an extra £51m if he abandons his current stance and signs a new deal in France by 31 July.
