In order to get ready for their opening preseason match against Karlsruher on Wednesday night, Liverpool has arrived in Germany.
To get ready for the forthcoming season, a 32-man group took a flight to Jurgen Klopp’s native country on Saturday. There are five scheduled friendly.
The boss is putting the players through their customary paces to get them ready for all that will be thrown at them with just four weeks until the Reds’ Premier League season kicks off at Stamford Bridge.
As Liverpool begins the German portion of their 2023–24 preseason, we’re looking at some of the important developments from their first training session.
The bikes have returned!
Without video of the Reds riding around a beautiful European location, a preseason trip wouldn’t be complete, and the club didn’t let fans down with their opening day clip.
On the first day, the participants pedaled their way through the Black Forest while grinning from ear to ear. Darwin Nunez was one of those guiding the group.
Since landing in Baden-Wurttemberg, the team used bikes to get to their first complete training session, where the hard work will undoubtedly start.
Thiago observes.
Although Thiago has been a part of Liverpool’s preseason activities from the start, he has yet to train with the team in its entirety.
The midfielder’s recovery from hip surgery is almost complete, but it will still be a little while before fans can see him on the field with a ball in his hands.
The Spaniard missed Liverpool’s final few weeks of the season and has been linked with a transfer elsewhere this summer, but he will be hoping to return to the action as soon as possible.
Skipper in the distance
Given the situation, it makes sense that Jordan Henderson has avoided the cameras while his future is up in the air.
The captain has a contract with Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, but in contrast to Fabinho, who is also traveling to the Middle East, Henderson has arrived in Germany despite recent rumors.
It is unclear if the 33-year-old would continue in camp for the duration of the team’s stay because it appears unlikely that Saudi Arabia will be able to pay a significant transfer price.
Mac Allister has excellent footwork.
No summer rust was evident in Liverpool’s first acquisition as the Reds engaged in some quick-fire ball work at their training facility.
As he passed the ball to his new teammates and slid by several, Alexis Mac Allister appeared poised and showed no symptoms of throwing the ball away.
The World Cup winner will aim to join the Reds’ midfield in week one of the new season, especially given how uncertain the fates of some of the old guard still are.
The manager is in a good mood.
The manager’s contagious attitude has permeated the preseason film as he prepares his team ready for what lies ahead as usual.
Given the recent bombshells that have been dropped around him, he could be excused for seeming like a guy carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, but Klopp sees no signs of stress.
Maximizing the advantages of the upcoming weeks will be the top objective, as it always is at this time of year, and that will undoubtedly remain the emphasis up until the campaign’s launch.
The Reds of yoga
The players have no excuse for being uncoordinated in the upcoming days since the manager and his team will be putting them through a series of yoga poses.
There were laughs and smiles mixed in with plenty of professionalism as the Reds carried out their stretches in what looked to be a fairly toasty climate in Germany.
From the sidelines, Klopp encouraged the team while wearing his cap backward. Isn’t it just lovely to have them back?
