Erik ten Hag’s expectations are explored by Mason Mount following a strong debut for Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount, who played for 45 minutes as they thrashed Leeds in their first preseason match, had all praise for head coach Erik ten Hag.

Mason Mount, who made a good impression in his Manchester United debut, has said he already completely comprehends the kind of role Erik ten Hag wants him to play.

The midfielder just completed his eagerly anticipated £55 million move from Chelsea to Old Trafford. Despite the Dutchman’s frequent assertions that more players are needed, he is the only player Ten Hag has recruited to his squad thus far during the summer transfer season.

With their first midsummer scrimmage against recently relegated Leeds United, the Red Devils have already started the preseason. Mount took part in the first 45 minutes of the game, which United ultimately won 2-0 at Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadion.

The England international had an impact despite the fact that the game was still 0-0 when Mount was replaced by Ten Hag. And Mount has said that he is absorbing the United manager’s tactical concepts like a duck to water.

“Being on the field was great. It is amazing to be able to use it now in games because we put in a lot of preparation and effort. We have been testing a number of different approaches,” he said.

I can see clearly how the manager wants to operate today and how the players behave. The focus of the first week is on developing physical fitness and working the legs. The younger lads displayed outstanding performance in the second half.

“The club is ecstatic to see them enter the game and have that impact. I really like the part I played today. the ability to drop in and build the play from a little deeper while still being free to advance, make runs into the box, and take part in more attacks.

I prefer to start the press with a threat to attack and my own rhythm in order to give the opposition something to consider.

Noan Emeran and Joe Hugill, two young players, scored goals to give United the perfect preseason start. Ten Hag also held a particular place in his heart for star summer signing Mount after his debut.

“Mount? Yes, he was fantastic. We were all ready for him to do this. He will significantly enhance our performance, despite the fact that this was only his first game. We have seen some encouraging changes, he told MUTV.

“The manner we trained over the past year shows you the foundation of our play. The young men were ideal for our play. Children see us model our principles and values, and today they did the same for us.

“When they initially arrive, it is a big deal when they get promoted to the first-team squad. You worked very hard for a very long time to get this opportunity to play; you deserve it. Two of the guys have scored goals to win the game.
