JORDAN HENDERSON will decide in the next 48 hours whether to quit Liverpool for Saudi Arabia.
A link-up with a former team-mate in the Middle East is on the cards after Henderson was offered a deal.
Jordan Henderson is set to make a decision on his Liverpool future
The Daily Mail reports that the Liverpool skipper will decide before Friday.
According to reports, he is uncertain about his future at Anfield and has been contacted by Al-Ettifaq.
The Saudi side has made him a two-year deal with an additional year’s option.
But, according to reports in the Athletic, the Liverpool captain has been offered terms he cannot refuse. Henderson is believed to earn in the region of £190k a week with the Reds.
It is claimed he has been presented with a deal worth a staggering £700K-A-WEEK to join Gerrard’s new club Al-Ettifaq.
Al-Ettifaq are prepared to make a formal approach once Henderson makes a choice, the article continues.
He was hesitant to leave Liverpool because he was worried that it might affect his position in the England team before Euro 2024.
His family were also said to have reservations over relocating to the Middle East.
If he were to join the club then he would reunite with ex-team-mate Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard is the new manager of Al-Ettifaq
Gerrard was appointed Al-Ettifaq manager earlier this month on a deal through to the summer of 2025.
He played alongside Henderson 141 times for Liverpool and England between 2011 and 2015.
The former manager of the Rangers turned down an opportunity before taking the helm at Al-Ettifaq.
Along with Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Gerrard made Henderson a priority acquisition after being appointed.
