Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, and Jadon Sancho were all starters for the Red Devils in their starting XI, which featured a mix of youth and experience.
At halftime, manager Erik ten Hag made a complete XI change, and rising stars Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill scored goals.
Both teams had firsts on the day as Daniel Farke managed Leeds for the first time and Mount made his professional debut.
Man Utd struggled to produce any clear-cut chances in the first half, so it was primarily a matter of getting minutes in the legs for Ten Hag’s team.
Prior to being taken off at halftime, Mount was active and had displayed some promising flicks and passes in the first half.
While Sancho struggled as a false nine, teenage midfielder Hannibal was the busiest of United’s players as he sought to impress Ten Hag playing in a No10 position.

He was referred to as a “Paul Pogba regen” by fans.
Mason Mount 7 Mount exudes confidence and was noticeably taking every single United set-piece.
With several good passes, he gave glimpses of what was to come, but nothing really materialized.
The new United No. 7 being surrounded by a more powerful team will be exciting to watch.
Mejbri, Hannibal 7Looks like an extremely tough player, and he did a great job of leading the press.
Hannibal appears motivated to impress Ten Hag this preseason, so United supporters may want to keep an eye on him.
Six Amad Diallolooked the brightest of United’s first-half frontline and finished the season on fire with Sunderland.
But for the child, nothing really worked.
Sancho, Jadon 6Despite playing as a false nine out of position, he made the most of the situation.
But tough to impress in a rotated side alongside younger players.
Forson, Omari 6The first half felt really unremarkable.
XI for the second half: Matj KováLooks comfortable at playing the ball out from the back which is much more in line with Ten Hag’s philosophy than De Gea.
United will be excited by Onana’s arrival now they’ve seen a keeper that is comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Marc Jurado 6Rarely tested by Leeds’ attackers but did well to keep a clean sheet in an assured performance.
Rhys Bennett 6Did well when called upon including and did well to stop a dangerous Leeds attack in the 74th minute.
Struggled a bit up against the pace of Dan James however.
Will Fish 6Kept a clean sheet and progressed the ball nicely.
Brandon Williams 7Didn’t wear the captain armband despite being the most experienced player on the pitch with 50 senior appearances.
After a rusty start he managed to drive his side on from left-back.
Daniel Gore 6Kept the ball ticking over in midfield.
Isak Hansen-Aaroen 8The youngster was playing on home turf in Norway – he’s from the Arctic circle in Tromso.
Got the assist for the first with a lovely threaded pass and looks a pretty decent dribbler too.
Charlie Savage 6Son of Robbie, the commentators delighted in letting us know that every time he went in for a challenge.
One of the more experienced players at this level and looked comfortable enough against a far stronger Leeds side.
Shola Shoretire 7Showed some impressive flashes on the ball – he possesses a lovely weight to his passes.
Noam Emeran 8Made no mistake when played through by Hansen-Aaroen – a very cool finish from the 20-year-old Frenchman.
Lovely threaded pass for the second goal.
He’ll be buzzing with a goal and an assist today.
