UPDATE: Klopp has ‘approved’ the signing of Romeo Lavia with the 6th most expensive fee in Liverpool histor

In preparation for the start of the preseason, Liverpool players and coaches have returned. The Reds will play Karlsruher SC of Germany in their first game in nine days.

The Merseysiders have improved the center of the field with transfers, but they still want to add another midfielder.

For a while now, Romeo Lavia has been linked to the Liverpool team, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Klopp personally approved of Lavia’s acquisition.

The Italian journalist told Born and Red:

“The interest is there, it’s very strong interest because the player is approved from both Jurgen Klopp’s side and also the technical side, the scouting department.”

“All the people at the club believe this boy is a very special player but it is true that he is not the only one on the list.”

Players that can constantly press, disrupt play, and keep possession of the ball under pressure are favorites of Klopp. All of the attributes apply to Lavia.

To part ways with the 19-year-old defensive midfielder, Southampton has set a price of £50 million.

Lavia would rank as the 6th most expensive signing in Liverpool history if they agreed to pay such a high price for a youngster (The Mirror).

How much of a bid, in your opinion, should the Reds make to entice the kid away from the Saints?
