With their first friendly match of the preseason just a few days away, Manchester United players started their preseason practices on Monday morning.
On Wednesday, Erik ten Hag’s team will travel to Oslo to take on Leeds United, a bitter foe. The game will be the Reds’ first since they fell to Manchester City in the FA Cup Final on June 3.
For United supporters, new players have been hard to come by, but last week, Ten Hag entered the transfer market for the first time by signing Mason Mount from Chelsea. This preseason, the offensive midfielder appears to have taken a young player under his wing after settling in well at Carrington.
Bonding between Mount and Hannibal
Hannibal played 41 games while on loan at Birmingham City last year, and it’s believed Ten Hag will evaluate him before determining where he’ll spend this year.
Amad wants to stand out.
The Ivorian has the support of many United supporters, but, like Hannibal, he will be evaluated during the tour before a final decision is made.
Martinez keeps getting better.
On Monday, he participated in drills with his fellow United players as part of his recovery work. If he is healthy enough to start on Wednesday, it will be interesting to watch.
Henderson becomes a Keeper.
According to MEN Sport, a deal to buy Andre Onana is moving forward, and the Reds are optimistic about doing so. The Englishman might want to relocate if he signs to play for more first-team teams.
Return of Van de Beek to Carrington
The 26-year-old’s season was cut short by injury last year after only ten appearances. Van van Beek needs to make a good first impression right away or his United career might be over.
