Klopp will ‘definitely’ implement Four changes at Liverpool during the coming month

First wave of Liverpool stars to arrive for preseason; lactate test to follow. The Reds captain seemed eager to do so in a series of social media posts made this week.

There will be many others who agree. Liverpool needs to get back on track quickly and ensure that anything similar does not happen again after a season of turmoil. Muhammad Salah admitted that there was “no excuse.”

There have, however, been positive steps taken. The Liverpool midfield immediately transforms at the entrance of Domenic Szabo and Alexis MacAllister.

The adjustments that Jürgen Klopp wanted made before his players returned for preseason have begun. There could be more exchanges in the future.

Now his coaching staff has 36 days to put these plans into action before the Reds’ Premier League opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in mid-August.

Here are the four things that Liverpool.com says are “certainly” going to happen in the next month as the countdown to the 2023-24 season continues to heat up.

New talent can really wow

Although it is unknown which young players will travel to Germany and Singapore for preseason with the senior team, a large number of exceptional talents are usually on hand.

After nearly 18 months on the sidelines, Kaide Gordon is expected to return, though he is not expected to travel with the first squad. Academy director Alex Inglethorpe revealed last month to The Athletic that Gordon will remain with the U21s in order to continue developing his physical fitness and mental sharpness.

But others like Ben Doak, Bobby Clark, and Larry Chambers are worth keeping an eye on. It’s possible that next year, Oak will have a larger role on the senior team, while Clark and Chambers will have to make tough decisions over loan transfers.

One thing that can be counted on is the existence of at least one promising young talent.

Signs are updated often

Even with MacAllister and Szaboszlai on Kloppo’s team, there should be more recruits in the future. While a left-sided central defender is high on the want list, Liverpool may still look to bolster their midfield.

Furthermore, further costs are possible. Ultimately, both Nat Phillips and Sepp Van den Berg will need to settle on a permanent playing situation.

Several loan decisions must be made as well, but they normally occur later in the window, when preseason has come to a close. There is plenty of time between now and then to decide whether or not to relocate and where you would like to go.

Aiming for timely reminders

One of the players who will return for the first day of preseason is forward Darwin Nnez from Uruguay. It appears like the 24-year-old needs a long summer to adjust to life as a Reds player. His debut season was impressive, but he hopes to build on the 15 goals he scored in his rookie year.

Others, too, must show signs of development and progress. Fabinho hopes to prove that he is still in good shape following a difficult season last year. Even though Vigil was not at his best, he may have benefited from a summer break.

Soon, in the course of Liverpool’s preseason, Jurgen Klopp and Darwin Nez will be reunited.

Only Nuez, Diaz, van Dijk, and Fabinho can get ready for a pivotal stretch. A healthy amount of competition is bound to result in a fierce battle for available positions, particularly in the middle and attack.

The shift in format is made explicit.

Liverpool finished the previous season looking strong with a new-look 3-2-5 formation, and the additions of McAllister and Szaboszlai appear to have been made specifically to fill the more advanced number eight positions.

Tennyson Alexander-Arnold was at the height of his powers in that configuration, and Fabinho turned in one of his finest displays in quite some time. Most of the Liverpool squad would benefit greatly from keeping this up.

But that doesn’t mean the final product will look the same. The system may be altered as a result of the summer’s development effort. Everything will become clear as soon as Klopp, Pep Ljnders, and the team get to work.
