Transfer news: Liverpool interested in La Liga ‘jewel’ at $33m, while Schmadtke employs ‘unique formula’ to sign Roméo Lavia

It has been reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano that Liverpool and Southampton may be able to negotiate a deal to get Roméo Lavia through the use of a “creative formula.”

Approximately $64 million (£50 million/€58 million) is how much Lavia is now worth, one year after Southampton bought him from Manchester City. However, the price may be lowered if other parties are brought into the transaction.

The Reds could lose Nat Phillips for good, and they could lose Tyler Morton, who spent last year on loan at Blackburn.

It’s unlikely that Manchester City will pay the full $64 million for Lavia due to his age and lack of professional playing experience, but Southampton won’t want to lose him for cheap because of Manchester City’s buy-back clause of $51 million (£40 million/€47 million) that kicks in next summer.

Liverpool may have to make concessions if it wants to sign the player.

‘Eyed’ Luiz Henrique

Liverpool is reportedly considering making a summer transfer approach for Real Betis forward Luiz Henrique, as reported by El Nacional (translated by F365). The Brazilian youngster, at only 22 years old, won over the fans with his seven goals and three assists.

Jürgen Klopp “sees a remarkable margin of progression” in the young forward, and he hopes to use him to lighten Mohamed Salah’s load at Anfield.

Real Betis hopes to make some moves in the transfer market this summer but has a limited budget to deal with.
