Arsenal had a mix of youth and experience

Gabriel Jesus lined up in attack alongside Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah, who missed a chance to put his side 1-0 up in the first half.

Instead, Watford’s Ismael Kone scored the game’s first goal, and they kept that advantage until ten minutes into the second half.

At halftime, Arteta made nine substitutions, including Marquinhos, who scored off a rebound after Amario Cozier-Duberry was denied.

Along with Cedric Soares and Rob Holding, who contributed to the equalizer, Arsenal also started first-choice defenders Ben White and Gabriel.

Reiss Nelson participated in his first game after agreeing to a new long-term contract with the team.
