With Vitor Roque one of Barcelona’s priority targets over the next summer, the Blaugrana have reached an agreement with Athletico Paranaense to sign him.
Barca will spend an amount of 35 million euros plus 10 million euros in surcharges for the 18-year-old striker. On top of that, Roque will sign a six-year contract through 2026, with a salary of less than €3 million per year and a €1 bιllιon release clause.
The deal is 99% complete with the final set of documents due to be sent by Barcelona to Athletico this week before commissioning is complete.
Now, Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torello has released a new report shedding light on some details of the terms of change that have been agreed between the two clubs.
According to reports, clubs like Manchester United, PSG, and Tottenham are willing to offer Athletico more than what Barcelona offered for Roque’s signing.
As a result, the Brazilian club has two more clauses included in their deal with the Catalan side to make up for the money they would lose if they didn’t sell him to any of the aforementioned clubs.
Belief in their crown jewel from Athletico Paranaense is so much that they have included a Ballon d’Or clause in the deal with Barcelona for the 18-year-old.
According to reports, Barcelona will owe the Brazilian club a certain amount if Roque finishes in the top three of the Ballon d’Or and a higher sum if the striker goes on to win the coveted Golden Globe.
Roque is in high form in 2023, having scored 15 goals in 29 games for his club, while also providing another five assists. Acquiring him will certainly be a big boost for Barcelona, but they have to make some deals to secure his registration this summer or wait for his arrival until next year.
