The Times reveɑled that Man Utd have joined the race to sign midfielder Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

Despite having signed Mason Mount, Man Utd is still trying to have more creativity next season. According to The Times, the Red Devils are eyeing midfielder Romeo Lavia from Southampton.

The Saints value the 19-year-old at £50m after a year of sublime performance. In addition to Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are also very interested in getting the signature of the former Manchester City player.

According to experts, Lavia will be the perfect substitute for Casemiro. Casemiro’s excellence is undeniable. However, the Red Devils still need personnel to rotate with this midfielder.

Their form took a dip when the 31-year-old was suspended. The likes of Scott McTominay and Fred are floundering on the pitch and the Red Devils need a pure No.6 midfielder for the new season.

According to the Independent, Ten Hag sees Southampton’s Romeo Lavia as a long-term replacement for Casemiro, who has been spotted with Bayern Munich, and is eyeing the midfielder’s development.

Last season, Lavia averaged 2.1 tackles, and 4.9 successful tackles per game. In addition, he has an 86% pass accuracy rate.
