UPDATE: Arsenal can’t guarantee future of Granit Xhaka with request from Mikel Arteta

CaughtOffside journalist Mark Brus reveɑled that the departure of the Swiss star has not yet been decided.

Arsenal are in the final stages of signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. The Gunners agreed to spend £105 million to meet the request from the partner and are expected to complete the procedure next week.

With the appearance of the 24-year-old star, many sources believe that Arsenal will accelerate the sale of Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen.

Granit Xhaka plans to leave Arsenal this summer transfer window. According to multiple sources, Arsenal and Xhaka are not in talks over a new deal and the two sides plan to part ways this month.

Bayer Leverkusen is constantly negotiating to sign the Swiss midfielder. The fee is around 13 million pounds. Even personal terms have been almost agreed with a 4-year contract, which will last until June 2027.

CaughtOffside’s Mark Brus, however, denies that. Share recently, he reveɑled that the departure of the Swiss star is still not guaranteed.

“Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is said to not necessarily be 100 per cent likely to leave the club this summer even if the transfer of Declan Rice is completed. Xhaka looks set to join Bayer Leverkusen amid speculation all summer leaning towards him returning to the Bundesliga.”

Coach Mikel Arteta highly appreciates Xhaka. Not to mention, after closing the deal for Rice, Arsenal also needed money to recover capital. With Xhaka having a relatively impressive season, Arsenal have reason to negotiate a higher price than Bayer Leverkusen’s offer.

Last season, Xhaka had an impressive performance when he was asked by Mikel Arteta to be more involved in the game-building process. If he stays, the former Gunners captain can completely help the club aim to compete for titles in many different arenas.
