Man Utd is eager to identify a replacement for David De Gea because of his uncertain future. The deadline for concluding the Andre Onana transfer between Manchester United and Inter Milan has reportedly passed, according to the Italian tabloid Gazzetta dello Sport.

This comes after David Harrison, the chief executive of football at Manchester United, and Inter’s sporting director Piero Asilo met in Ibiza.

Both sides want a quick solution to close the deal immediately and Gazzetta dello Sport insists Onana can ‘become a Man Utd player on Friday’. The report adds that Asilo will meet with the player’s agent and Man Utd in the ‘next 48 hours’.

Onana was a student of coach Erik Ten Hag when he was still managing Ajax. This goalkeeper is famous for his ability to play with his feet and last season went with Inter to the Champions League final.

Meanwhile, it is likely that if he stays at Man Utd, goalkeeper De Gea must also accept a reserve role if the Red Devils successfully recruit Onana.
