Manu Kone’s potential for Liverpool: ‘There aren’t many like him’

Manu Kone’s potential for Liverpool: “There aren’t many like him”

This summer, the Reds have been connected to a number of players, but few have received as much coverage as Kone.

According to Liverpool’s “contact” with Borussia Monchengladbach for the French youth international, David Lynch, a journalist from the Merseyside region, wrote this.

Before the U21 Euros, where Kone competed for France alongside fellow Liverpool target Khephren Thuram, things quieted down.

After the competition, transfer negotiations will probably resume, therefore we were interested in learning more about Kone, who is 22.

This Is Anfield chatted with Bundesliga analyst Kevin Hatchard (@kevinhatchard) to get the inside scoop on Kone and his probable transfer to Liverpool.

Whom would we get as a player?

They would be acquiring a very promising player who has had several successful seasons with Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga; someone who has excelled even at a club that struggles; someone who has played regularly; and someone who, if you consider the defensive side of the game, has worked incredibly hard.

There is no denying that he needs to smooth out the edges in his gameplay. He engages in too many reckless challenges and receives too many yellow cards.

However, he is definitely capable of stopping play and getting a squad moving.

That sort of atmosphere is what you’re looking at if you consider what Fabinho does for Liverpool, for instance.

He is one of the few midfielders at that elite level.

Marcus Thuram, Ramy Bensebaini, and Lars Stindl all left on free throws.

In terms of marketable assets, they did have someone like Florian Neuhaus, who has somewhat retreated.

Money is tight, and they are no longer eligible for Europe.

They are in a position where they would accept that getting between Β£30 and $40 million for Kone is just part of the game.

Given that his squad placed 10th last year, how did that season go?

I believe the reason why is that Gladbach are going through a reconstruction process. Daniel Farke only lasted one season, so it was an odd season.

Nearly a third of the starting XI wanted to leave, which I believe we were aware of.

Thus, it was always going to be a difficult position, but he never wavered.

You must keep in mind that he was injured and that it appeared he wouldn’t be ready for the season to begin.

Farke had discussed easing him into that season because he hadn’t played a significant role in the preseason.

He actually started off strong and played a significant amount of time.

He was a crucial member of the group. I also enjoy how he performed effectively in crucial games.

Can Kone improve his offensive skills?

Since he now spends most of his time for Gladbach winning back the ball, I believe his offensive side of the game needs to be developed.

Kone, in my opinion, fits Jurgen Klopp’s expectations for center midfielders at Liverpool much more than Gabri Veiga does.

When it comes to obstacles, he spent the majority of the season right there with Jude Bellingham.

He can win the ball and is someone who puts their foot in. He possesses many of the attributes that Klopp would look for in a midfielder, especially the ridiculous work rate that Klopp requires, so I can see why Liverpool are being connected with him.

Would he help Liverpool’s starting lineup?

not at this time.

I don’t believe there would be a problem if you dropped him in, but I wouldn’t anticipate him to be a first-team regular right away.

Having said that, he has already defied expectations multiple times in his brief career.

He was probably viewed as a long-term project when he was acquired by Gladbach, but after he started games, he rapidly established himself as a first-team regular.
