Billionaire lifestyle: Neymar million-dollar NFT investment proves him as a smart ‘player’

The Brazilian star of Paris Saint-Germain has acquired two pieces from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection together with teammates Verratti and Paredes.

You don’t have to be an expert on Titian, Constable, or Monet to have noticed how the art world is evolving. We are witnessing some of the biggest corporations in the world, including as Meta and Twitter, as well as a number of celebrities, invest in these crypto assets since digital works are being traded for billions of dollars each year.

NFTs attract athletes

Non-fungible tokens, sometimes referred to as NFTs, moved almost $40 billion in total last year alone, and some famous football players are also getting involved. Luka Modric of Real Madrid has assembled his own collection of NFTs, and Neymar Jr. of Paris Saint-Germain has spent almost a million euros on two intriguing items.

The largest market for this kind of token, OpenSea, has allowed the Brazilian gamer to purchase two pieces from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection. The player paid 159.99 ETH for one of the illustrations and 189.69 ETH for the other using the Ethereum cryptocurrency, which translates to about $521,000 for the first and $624,000 for the second in US dollars.

The purchase was made using his custom wallet on the website, which bears his initials and the moniker “EneJay.” What’s most startling, though, is that he later admitted on his Instagram page that he had carried out the transaction with two companions. Leandro Paredes and Marco Verratti, two of his PSG teammates, are said to have also contributed to the cost, although neither of them has chosen to share any pictures on social media like Neymar has.

Collection from the Bored Ape Yacht Club for the renowned

Digital art enthusiasts greatly prize the pieces that make up the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, but famous people from all around the world have also taken notice of them. Rapper Eminem, NBA three-point specialist Stephen Curry, and well-known TV host Jimmy Fallon are all on that list.

It should be noted that in November of last year, Neymar also inked a contract with the business NFTSTAR to create, market, and distribute collectible NFTs.
