Arsenal is about to have a quality addition to the ɑttack from its own city rival Chelsea.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal has been “green lighted” by Chelsea to buy Kai Havertz.
“Kai Havertz’s intentions are clear. He wants to play for Arsenal next season, after being allowed to leave by Chelsea board in this summer transfer window. Personal terms have been agreed by Havertz and Arsenal. “The Gunners” will soon send an official offer to Chelsea, “said transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Kai Havertz no longer wants to stay at Chelsea.
The transaction is expected to be completed within the next 10 days. Initially, Chelsea offered £ 75 million for Havertz, but now, “The Blues” are ready to negotiate with Arsenal to reduce the transfer fee of the German player.
Before that, the Champions League 2020/21 champion was eyeed by Real Madrid. However, the deal could not happen because “Los Blancos” only spent no more than £ 50m for the player born in 1999.
Havertz is one of the two names leading the shopping list of the reigning Premier League runner-up. Besides Havertz, Arsenal also aim to recruit West Ham midfielder Declan Rice. Bayern Munich withdrew in the race for Rice’s signature when it was learned that the Englishman wanted to continue his career at home, more specifically in London. At the moment, the only team paying attention to Rice is Arsenal.
The two sides are said to have agreed on personal terms. Rice has also just informed the West Ham leadership of his intention to leave to look for opportunities to play in the Champions League.
The contract of the central midfielder born in 1999 is valid until the end of the 2024/25 season. Therefore, West Ham cannot shout “heavenly” prices like the summer transfer window 2022. According to sources in England, West Ham will accept to sell the number one star for about £ 100 million.
