Manchester United are confident they will easily agree terms with midfielder Mason Mount this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are looking to strengthen midfield options and see Mount as one of their top targets. According to British media, Man Utd sent an initial offer of about £ 40 million for the English midfielder but was rejected.
The Blues, meanwhile, have valued the player at £70m despite having just one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Negotiations are ongoing and United are looking to come back with a better offer, believed to be in the £50-55m range. Chelsea is still determined to keep the asking price until the present time.
The Blues were forced to put Mount on the market after being unable to convince the England international to sign a new contract. And Fabrizio Romano says United are confident it will be easy to reach an agreement with the player given Mount’s desire to move to Old Trafford.
Specifically, Romano told GiveMeSport: “Man United want players. Man United are convinced that the Mount deal is something that will be easily achieved. This player wants to move to Man United.
“So now everything depends on the negotiations between the two teams.”
