99% Deal Done: Fabrizio Romano Provides Insight on Liverpool Target’s Price, Below £65/70m

Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister’s true price revealed as a transfer from Brighton nears

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the potential signing of Alexis Mac Allister as Liverpool inches closer to getting a deal through for the 24-year-old World Cup winner.

According to Romano via Twitter (h/t Liverpool ECHO), the Argentine will cost “way less than £65/70m” as Brighton’s fixed amount to sign Mac Allister is not that high.

This revelation sparks optimism among supporters, who eagerly anticipate the completion of the deal, which stands expected to take place next week. Alexis Mac Allister saw himself extensively linked with a move to Liverpool over the last two transfer windows, and it would give the Reds a certain peace of mind to see him don the famous Red jersey at Anfield.

The Argentine midfielder has impressed with his performances for Brighton & Hove Albion, showcasing his technical skills, creativity, and versatility in midfield.

The Reds need more signings

Liverpool obviously sees him as a valuable addition to their midfield options and a player who can contribute significantly to the team’s success. If the deal goes through as anticipated, Mac Allister will join Liverpool’s ranks, adding depth and also, immense quality to the midfield.

His style of play aligns well with Liverpool’s attacking philosophy, making him an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp’s “heavy metal” system. However, the Reds should not conclude their transfer business with the one signing.

With the confirmed departure of three midfielders already, the existing midfield is bleak, injury-prone and inconsistent. Jordan Henderson seems to have lost his legs compared to a few seasons ago, and the same could be said of Fabinho. Thiago is too injury-prone.

The likes of Curtis Jones, Stefan Bajcetic, Fabio Carvalho, and Harvey Elliott, even though have an immense amount of potential, they are certainly not enough to win you titles, at least not the next season. While the addition of Mac Allister is certainly exciting, we obviously need more numbers.

From that point of view, it is extremely essential that the Reds bring in players, who are relatively young and also have a decent amount of experience for them to have an instant impact as transition phases coupled with the injury-prone nature of our players can get really tough.
