Speaking on MUTV, defender Raphael Varane said he and his teammates are ready to face Man City striker Erling Haaland.
Tomorrow night, the two Manchester clubs will have the FA Cup final at Wembley, in search of a second title of the season after Man United lifted the League Cup title and Man City won the Premier League.
Haaland only joined City last summer from Borussia Dortmund, but was a key part of their success, and impressed by scoring 52 goals in 51 games. If United want to win at Wembley this weekend, they must disable Haaland, and Varane said the Red Devils will find a way to cut off the Norwegian’s supply of the ball.
“Haaland is a very good player, we all know that, but the danger from Man City is everywhere,” said Varane.
“They can score from set pieces, from possession and transitions. We knew we had to stop them, as a team.
The connection they get from De Bruyne, with very complicated passes to defend. Accordingly, we will try to sever that connection. We’ll try to stop them sooner rather than wait until the end because sometimes it’s too late.”
